They say practice makes perfect. I suppose that is the point of this exercise. I was never really a big fan of practicing. I can never get myself motivated. When I have a choice to make between doing something fun or practicing something that I’m obviously not good at, I choose the fun option. For instance, when I got a guitar I told myself I would practice every day. I did at first, but that slowly changed to once a week, and then I stopped playing all together. It would be ideal if I were good at everything without practicing.
Picture
•February 20, 2008 • Leave a CommentThis picture reminds me of South Station in Boston. I love Boston. I used to go there all of the time. I would take the T from Middleboro straight to Boston. Once you arrive at South Station, it looks a little bit like the picture. There are stairs and escalators leading down the the Subway. It isn’t quite as nice in Boston, but it’s the same idea. There is plenty of stuff to do there. You can go to Newbury street, or Faneuil Hall, or go down the the water. Just walking around is fun. I like the huge Borders.
Play
•February 20, 2008 • Leave a CommentAll work and no play makes Matt a dull boy. I try to always make sure I have time to play between work, school, and all of the other things. It’s important to enjoy your life, while still being responsible. If all a person does is work, then they will always be stressed out. If all someone does is mess around, then they will go nowhere in life. The balance is important. Some people, like celebrities, can afford to do whatever the hell they want, though. In my free time, I like to go to concerts, hang out, sleep, etc.
Pencil
•February 13, 2008 • Leave a CommentPencils are a bad subject for me. I have absolutely nothing to write about, which is ironic. I find the pen to be a little more convenient, and it also looks better on paper. Pencils need to be sharpened, the lead constantly breaks, and you are screwed when the eraser runs out. Half the time the erasers don’t even work. They just smudge the lead all over the paper. Don’t get me wrong, it is better than dipping a feather in ink every 2 seconds, but it has it’s downsides. Overall, I give the pencil an 8 out of 10.
Success
•February 12, 2008 • Leave a CommentSuccess is the thing that everybody aims for. Everyone has their own idea of success. To some people, it’s getting good grades and getting into the best college and becoming a lawyer. To others, it’s just being generally happy. There is always something or someone standing in your way. Unless you have everything you could possibly need to be successful. Some people are born into it. Other people share their success by donating to charity or helping out people that are less fortunate. I am going to be very rich and powerful some day. That’s what successful is to me.
Water
•February 11, 2008 • Leave a CommentI don’t drink a lot of water. I probably should, but I find juice to be the better alternative. I have never really been a big water drinker. I do like swimming in it, though. There is a little path about 5 miles from my house that I go down sometimes. It leads to a small beach that is pretty secluded. It’s nice to go there and relax, and the water is relatively clean. I go there with my friend in the summer. She calls it black water beach. I’m not sure whether or not that is its actual name.
Chair
•February 11, 2008 • Leave a CommentI’m sitting in a chair right now. It’s a black leather chair. It’s pretty basic. It is adjustable up and down. It doesn’t have arm rests or anything like that. In my room, I have one of those round chairs. I think they’re called papasan chairs. I’m not sure about the spelling. It’s a pretty comfortable chair. Girls seem to like it a lot. The last chair I have in my room is another black leather chair. It is similar to the first one, but it’s a little nicer. It is bigger, and this one has arm rests as well.
Garden
•February 11, 2008 • Leave a CommentGardening has never really been my thing. I’ve never had a green thumb. I do know someone that is into horticulture, though. My friend’s mom loves it. Their entire back yard is full of different plants and trees and bushes. They all look very nice. The shrubs are full and green, and the flowers are colorful. They even have a greenhouse attached to the back of their house. They have a small garden with things like squash, tomatoes, and potatoes. She spends hours a day outside working on her plants in the summer. She is good at what she does.
Drive
•February 11, 2008 • Leave a CommentI like driving a lot. I drive all the time. I give my friends a ride when they need one. It calms me down as well. If I’m pissed of, it helps to go for a ride down the street or something. I also like driving fast. I want to go to the Autobahn in Germany. I bet my car wouldn’t even go fast enough to drive safely on it. The recommended speed is apparently 81 mph, but I’m sure people go much more quickly than that. I’d like to rent a fast car and take it there some day.
Musical Instrument
•February 11, 2008 • Leave a CommentMy favorite musical instrument is the guitar. I used to play, but I never really got into it. I could never motivate myself to practice enough, and I never took lessons. It was just something I did for fun once in a while. I have a fender. It’s red and white. I got it for free from a family member who was also too lazy to play it. My guitar was made in Mexico, so I call it Sanchez. I used to bring it to my friends house in Fall River to practice. He was a lot better than I.
